After about 20 years of thinking about it, the Session guitar gets a pickup upgrade from the 'el cheapo' made in Japan stock 80's pickups, to a Seymour Duncan SH-4B humbucker in the bridge.

« 33 » New PRS SE Torero Guitar
31st January 2011

Richard orders a new guitar and it finally arrived - a Paul Reed Smith Torero. The SE Torero features several firsts for PRS — a Floyd Rose bridge, EMG pickups, and neck through body construction among them — that should appeal to both the existing PRS player and a new audience and musician. The minimal/unpronounced heel smoothly blends into the body and the deeper, lower cutaway gives easier and smoother accessibility to the upper frets while the pick-ups provide power, clarity, and definition. These features all contribute to the Torero’s notable sustain, and the bound ebony fretboard with jumbo frets and no inlays paired with a mahogany body and flame-maple veneer give this guitar a very distinct look.

« 39 » Richards new Inlaid Guitar
14th November 2005

Richards birthday present arrives! People chipped in and bought me this inlaid guitar from overseas; depicting a Genie coming out from a Lamp. The guitar is inlaid with Mother of Pearl and Abalone to give the striking image, which is hard to pick up with the camera.

« 40 » Evedon Park weekend for Family
19th October 2005

We went to the Evedon Park bush resort (about 250km's south of Perth) for the weekend, stopping at the "Bull and Bush" pub for lunch, and being stopped by cattle crossing the road. During the evening and morning we told stories by the campfire, built from the BBQ we had, before heading off to view the Wellington Dam. Took some photos of the wildlife around and general Australian bush scenes.
